Club History or Details : Like past years this year also we celibrate Durpuja in our club premises. This year our this year our pratima will make based on nabadurga. Navratri is a Hindu festival of worship and dance. The word Navaratri means nine nights in Sanskrit, nava meaning 'nine' and ratri meaning 'nights'. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Devi are worshipped in our puja pandal.History: The people of primitive age experienced the need of food for their survival and they invented cultivation of crops. In that process a sense of religion came into their mind. They started worshipping the Earth as the Mother goddess, the producer of crops and the food-grains. In the following ages she was named Dharitri, who is also named as Shakambhari, Durga, Annapurna or Annada, Basundhara etc. She is also named as Aditi, the mother of Sun because the Sun rises daily from the womb of the Mother Earth. She Navaratri called Usha, the Goddess of light and the destroyer of darkness. Devi Durga is, thus, the Mother of the whole universe, who produces nourishment, destroys the darkness of the world and the demons and diminishes the distress and the deceases of all living creators of the whole world. From that concept the innumerable forms of images of the Mother Goddess, Durga, as written in our early religious book as in the Vedas, the Puranas Andas envisioned by the saints and the sages and given shapes by the artists and the sculptors for years together, we picked-up9 (nine) of such idols and named them NAVA-DURGA this year. These nine forms of Goddess Durga are: Saulaputr (worship first day on Navaratri) Brahmachāriṇī(worship 2nd day on Navaratri) Candraghaṇṭā चन्द्रघण्टा (worship 3rd day on NavaratrKuśamāṇḍān (worship 4th day on Navaratri) Skandamātā स्कन्द्दमाता (worship 5th day on Navaratri) Kātyāyanī (worship 6th day on Navaratri) Kālarātrī काऱरात्री (worship 7th day on Navaratri) Mahāgaurī (worship 8th day on Navaratri) Siddhidātr (worship 9th day on Navaratri)
